Christmas Eve Plans

I am so excited for Christmas Eve. I just had to share what Chad and I are going to be doing this year. I figured since we didn't have any kids, yet, that we needed to bring some of that "little kid" excitement into our holiday celebration. So, we're going to blow up or air mattress, throw out the sleeping bags, pop some popcorn, watch movies, eat cookies and pizza, and sleep under the Christmas tree. I don't know why I'm so excited about doing this, but I can't wait. I'm looking forward to our little slumber party more than opening presents. I think this is going to be a tradition that we'll need to continue doing in the years to come. And I figure that once we start having little ones we'll still have slumber parties during December, just not on Christmas Eve. So, what do you think.....sound fun, or a little juvenile for us?

To me, age goes out the window when it comes to Christmas. Anything goes no matter how old you are. Before I was married me and my roomates did the same thing (sleep under the tree) and it was a blast... so have fun with it and don't forget to save some cookies for Santa.

How fun! I think everyone should keep in touch with their inner child.

I think that's perfect! That's definitely a good tradition. I can understand why you're so excited! Slumber Par-Tay!

I think it sounds like fun! My kids would love that! We should totally do it one night - maybe tomorrow night since Santa will be showing up on Wednesday. I agree with Brianna - age goes out the window at Christmas time. Remember, the grown women wearing little girl bows and Christmas sweaters - kind of the same thing, only a slumber party is actually cool!

I love that idea. I had a student last year ans his family would do that the night before Christmas Eve. They called it their Polar Express party. They slept by the tree, ate popcorn and hot chocolate, and watched movies; always the polar express. It's fun to hear pre-kids ideas. A tradition Jon and I started is doing a Secret Santa for another family. We figure since we don't have kids to buy for, we'll make Christmas extra special for someone's kids!
Merry Christmas!!!

Fabulous idea! I wish my air mattress wasn't flat! We'd try it tonight!! I don't think you're ever too old for "kids ideas."

What a great idea! Make traditions for your family now. I think that is great. Hey, I hope you guys are doing okay. I know it really stinks to watch others adopt and not have your baby here yet. I hope and pray your turn is coming quickly. I'm always keeping an eye out for you two. I'm sorry you've had to watch our family grow while you wait! It stinks. Let me know if I can do anything to help you with the adoption stuff. I'll keep praying for you. Love, Liz

Juvenile, completely juvenile...that's the best part. Who wants to grow up? Gavin and I are still young at heart and that's the way it's going to stay. I think that we'll have to adopt this child-like tradition to our family. Awesome idea. You'll have to take pictures and tell all of us how it goes.

To be quite honest, I'm surprised that Chad even agreed to do something like this with you! You must be a good influence on him...nice work!!

Sounds like a great tradition!Steve and I {usually} help Santa set up and then we play games.

Plus sleeping under the tree will be something fun to do when the kids get too big to believe in Santa
