Our Easter weekend started off with our annual hot dog roast with Chad's side of the family. Like last year we had wonderful chilly weather covered with a sprinkling or rain. It was lovely. In spite all of that, the girls had a really good time hunting for eggs, looking at horses, and eating lots of good food. Unfortunately I forgot my camera. Fortunately, my sis-in-law had her camera phone on her. However, I haven't gotten those pics from her yet. Oh well, you get the idea.
Sunday morning was filled with more egg hunting, buckets of goodies, and the eating of way too much candy. (Which was enjoyed by all...especially Britnee!)
The girls Easter buckets. Can't beat cute buckets for only $1.00 each!
Britnee started off by digging into her loot while Kinsie dove into the candy filled eggs that were all over the room.
Once Britnee realized that Kinsie was finding said candy filled eggs she immediately followed suit.
(Classic Kinsie!)
I swear she had a piece of candy in her mouth the entire morning before church. What a little sugar junkie.
Once the eggs were found and some candy eaten, the girls went through the goodies that were in their buckets. Each girl got a new coloring book, a new top for church, new hair clips and socks, candy from grandparents, and sunglasses. Kinsie got some Playdo and Britnee got colored pencils. All intended to be shared....ya right!
After they had fun with their gifts we had breakfast and got ready for church. The girls were absolutely adorable in their matching skirts and color coordinating tops. Their cuteness demanded that I take some pictures. This process ended up being a joke. This first one actually isn't that bad. But as we continued to snaps some shots we continued to go downhill. Britnee started wiggling around while Kinsie became distracted. So, we tried to focus their attention with...some more candy. (yes, we're bad parents) You can see the candy egg lodged in Britnee's cheesy smile.
I finally thought I had a decent shot when I realized Britnee thought it would be fun to flash her diaper. She is such a little character.
So, I gave up and we headed outside to get some more pics.
And finally, I was able to get my semi decent shot.
We had a fun weekend and a great Easter Sunday. We hope all of you were also able to enjoy the holiday and the message of peace and hope that comes through our Savior's Resurrection.
