Impressed with myself

I know that sounds a little arrogant, but I can't help it. Since becoming a full time mommy I've found it very difficult to get anything done in a days time. I have several things that need to be done and my "to do" list has become a little overwhelming. I've found that if I'm able to accomplish one thing on my list during the day, than I feel I've had a very successful day. I know how pathetic that sounds, but that's just how it is. I take what I can get in between the feedings, changings, burpings, naps, and whatever else Kinsie decides to throw at me. (Don't get me wrong--I love every waking minute I have with her, but I just didn't realize how demanding a new little one can be.)
Well, today I feel pretty darn proud of myself. I was able to sit down, plan out a monthly dinner menu, go over to help a neighbor put together freezer meals, and then take Kinsie grocery shopping for my menu items. I did all of that and even fed Kinsie a bottle while while at the grocery store. Now, I don't claim to be any type of a super mom, not by a long shot, but I am super pleased with what I was able to accomplish! And I'm stoked about my monthly menu! I've been dying to get one done for years, but I always figured it would be too hard to commit to it while I was working. Now that I'm home full time, I thought I'd give it a whirl. Tonight was our first planned meal and I can't tell you how refreshing it was to have dinner all planned out. There was no thinking involved. I just went to the kitchen, got all the items I needed (pre-purchased of course) and made a nice family dinner. I'm kind of wishing I'd started this sooner though. It saves me so much time and it was even better to have a strict grocery list to shop from.
Here's a look at what's on the menu for the rest of the month. I did all of my shopping for the first two weeks and hope to cut down my shopping to every other week.(Click on the image to enlarge)

I know many of you probably have a great system already in place and I commend you for being on the ball, but right now I just have to revel in my little moment of triumph....yeah for me :)

Look Ma....NO hands

When my sister found out that Chad and I would be having Kinsie join our family she was really quick to send me this... All it is is 5 yards of fabric that I warp around to create a baby carrier. The instructions are pretty easy and can be found on you tube. Anyway--Kinsie and I gave it ago today and these were our results. I can't tell if she likes it yet, but I sure do love the hands free aspect of it!
THANKS KARENA!!

Kinsie is 1 week old

At least she was yesterday. To celebrate the big day Kinsie decided it was time to start eating a full 3 oz. She kinda likes to rotate between 2-3 oz. which leaves us guessing how much to put into her bottle. We also decided to celebrate by having some visitors. Chad had to go into work yesterday, so we thought it would be fun to have grandpa and grandma come up for a few hours to spend some quality time with their newest grand baby. I think they really enjoyed the time they had holding her, feeding her, burping her, and changing her. Kinsie was a little stinker and decided she didn't want to wake up until my parents were getting ready to leave. I think out of the 4 hours they were here, Kinsie was awake for 45 minutes. Oh well, they still loved being with her and it was nice to have the company while Chad was gone.
Kinsie is getting to be such a big girl already. She loves picking her head up and looking all over the place. We caught her picking up her head while she was lying down the other day and decided to get some video of it. I was a little late and missed the first part, but you get the general idea.

Well, we're loving every minute we have with our sweet little girl and can't believe she's 1 week old. It will be so much fun to have her get bigger and to a point where she will start to laugh and interact with us, but I'm loving these moments with her while she's so little. I guess all I can do is enjoy the moment while I'm in it.

Can't get enough

Things at our home have been great. Kinsie is such an amazing little girl. She's so easy going and such a happy little baby. We enjoy spending every hour of the day just soaking her in. I'll admit that I'm completely exhausted, but I guess that comes with the territory. Besides, I wouldn't trade one minute of sleep for this precious little angel. She's made us feel so complete.
Well, I have a sister that lives in Iowa and she said she needs to see more pictures of Kinsie since she's so far away. I figured that both our parents and the rest of our siblings probably felt the same way. So, this post is for them. Besides, I can't get enough of her either.

Introducing...

Our sweet little girl, Kinsie Danielle. Isn't she the most beautiful little girl you've ever seen. We both think she's absolutely perfect. We went to LDS Hospital for the placement yesterday morning around 10:30. After signing papers and getting some nursing instructions we went in and saw Danielle and her parents. There are no words to describe that situation, so I won't even try. All I can say is that Chad and I absolutely love Dannie with all our hearts and feel so blessed to have been given such an amazing gift from her. She will always be apart of our lives and we've already tried to tell Kinsie how much Dannie loves her.
Kinsie is our little miracle and we love her so much. Neither one of us can stop looking at her. She's a great little girl and woke up only once during the night last night. She never cries and has tons of hair. She's been awake for most of the morning and has finally settled down for an afternoon nap. I could go on and on about her, but I'll let the pictures do the talking.
