The Debate

Facebook....to join or not to join.

I'm torn on what to do.  Right now Chad is the only in one who has a Facebook account.  So, every once in awhile I'll jump on and see what others are up to.  Mainly I browse photos and chat with my brother in law.  Lately, I've been debating on actually getting my own account and catching up with those long lost friends of mine.

Here's my hold up.  I don't view Facebook as a log of my daily events.  (Even though it seems like some of the most random things are shared by others.)  I look at my blog as my journal and record of family events that are taking place, mingled with the occasionally bit of randomness.  I view Facebook as a great way to get in touch with friends, view their photos and see their families, and I think it makes for one great address book....of sorts.  If I were to join Facebook I would be one of those facebookers/bloggers who only posts once every year, although I would chat with someone for hours on end.  Also, I really have been holding off on joining so I can still be numbered with the few that haven't "conformed".  Kind of like how Chad and I still don't have cell phones (pause for audible GASP!)  I'm living proof that you can live without your cell phone!

Here's why  I want to join.  I have a ton of great friends that I would love to get back in touch with and not everyone has a blog that they keep up, but it seems like most people are on Facebook.  That's the only way I can really get in contact with some of these people.

There you have it.  The worries that fill my day.  Haaahaaahaaa...ya right.  I wish that was the only worry that ever filled my day.  But for now this is the one you get to hear about.  :)

All in a days work

Such a good feeling to finish some spring cleaning!
Along with some organizing and quick rearranging.

Not to mention:
-the purchasing for some much needed storaging
-and the quick little fixing with some easy to hang hanging

And of course, let's not forget the mess making that's taking place during all my endeavoring.

So, off I head to finish the cleaning, washing, and picking uping
while the girls continue to add their own little sprinkling of clothing

...all over the place.

Dedicated to the one I love

This post is for Connie, Kenneth and Brannon.
With a sprinkling of Kira
Because she was there for some of it and because she and I had a nice walk down memory lane the other day.

OLDIES BUT GOODIES: {For so many reasons}

Super Mario Cart
 Chicamarungas
(most commonly known as a Chimichangas)

And let's not forget:
Attempting to sleep on Batch's roof for the night, only to end up sleeping on the living room floor because we kept sliding to the bottom of our sleeping bags.  Although, Kenneth never did join us.  Instead he woke up to find everyone gone.  I guess he was somehow able to enjoy sleeping in the bottom of a 90 degree sleeping bag.

Which reminds me of Arizona.  Once again attempting to sleep somewhere.  This time on a trampoline.  Again, three of us moved to the house.  None of us enjoyed rolling to he middle and sleeping on top of each other.  Meanwhile Kenneth, yet again, awoke to find himself all alone.  Poor kid.  He probably thought he had bad B.O. or something like that.

I'm sure there are others (fish fries, the "F" word, California, cheerleader stunts, streaking, hearts, etc.) but I should probably stop here since no one else is going to appreciate this post.  Although...if you can think of a few that I've left out share a comment or two.  (P.S.  I couldn't stop laughing at those two stories.  Ah...classics!)

Don't talk to me when I'm cooking!

Yesterday I decided to keep dinner simple.
We went with
FRENCH TOAST
--a family favorite--

I set up my griddle and got it piping hot.
I set the bread, eggs, milk, and cinnamon onto the counter.
I got out a container for my egg mixture.
I set that container next to the garbage where I throw my eggs shells away.

I then proceed to engage in a conversation with Chad.
I can't remember what it was we were discussing.
(It was probably some extremely philosophical topic
which involved dirty diapers and runny noses.)

During this very in depth conversation
I started to crack my eggs.  I took my first egg and gave
it a firm tap on the counter and cracked it open.

(Remember...I'm in the middle of a very profound
discussion with Chad.  Also, please note that I'm
the one talking at this moment in time.)

So, while I'm chatting away I crack my egg
and drop the yolk into the garbage can, then discard
my egg shell into the container that I had sitting aside for my eggs.
Apparently I'm unable to talk and crack an egg at the same time.

Pathetic?
Yes!
A waste of a good egg?
Yes!
Funny as all get out?
You betcha!

Especially, when your husband says,
"You have to blog about that!"

Finding Joy in the Turn of a Page

If you remember reading this post many eons ago, then you should know that Chad and I love reading a good book...together.  Since it's become one of my most favorite things to do with him, he's been really good at getting me some great books.

We just recently finished reading this (one of my Christmas gifts)...
and this (one of my birthday gifts)...
All within the last month.
We've also been in the process of reading this...
For quite awhile now.
I'm sure you can imagine why it's taking us so long to get through this one.  In fact, it's taken us a very long amount of time to get through the entire series. (Chad's been a good sport!  He doesn't do well with mushiness)

We are also in the process of reading this one...
I think we started it a week ago and we're almost to the halfway point!
(Please...NO SPOILERS!)

As for myself.  I reread this for the ??? time a few months ago.
I've been contemplating on starting this series again.
In fact, I've tried to get into it twice now, but haven't been able to for some reason. Maybe there really is something to the third time being the charm?!

In the mean time, I've really been enjoying this priceless treasure...

Irresistible...

Even when they are covered in grape jelly from head to chin.

Or when they end up getting into, and climbing onto, every little thing in the house.

 Like I said...Irresistible!
