Egg-citing

Look what we have growing in our backyard...
Three gorgeous robin eggs nestled in a perfect nest.  Aren't they the most beautiful color you've ever seen.  These little babies are growing in a bush right outside my bedroom window.  Chad has noticed over the past couple of days that a robin has been hanging out in our backyard.  After putting two and two together he discovered her nest and eggs last night.  I'm dying to show them to the girls sometime today.  I tried to snap a picture of the mother to be, but she's been a little camera shy as you can imagine.  I've already enjoyed peeking out my window down into the little nest to watch mama bird care for her three little eggs and it will be so exciting to wake one morning to find three baby birds in their place.  In the meantime, I'm content with our three turquoise eggs.  (They are so pretty!)

Easter Weekend

Our Easter weekend started off with our annual hot dog roast with Chad's side of the family.  Like last year we had wonderful chilly weather covered with a sprinkling or rain.  It was lovely.  In spite all of that, the girls had a really good time hunting for eggs, looking at horses, and eating lots of good food.  Unfortunately I forgot my camera.  Fortunately, my sis-in-law had her camera phone on her.  However, I haven't gotten those pics from her yet.  Oh well, you get the idea.
Sunday morning was filled with more egg hunting, buckets of goodies, and the eating of way too much candy.  (Which was enjoyed by all...especially Britnee!)
The girls Easter buckets.  Can't beat cute buckets for only $1.00 each!
Britnee started off by digging into her loot while Kinsie dove into the candy filled eggs that were all over the room.
Once Britnee realized that Kinsie was finding said candy filled eggs she immediately followed suit.
 (Classic Kinsie!)
I swear she had a piece of candy in her mouth the entire morning before church.  What a little sugar junkie.

Once the eggs were found and some candy eaten, the girls went through the goodies that were in their buckets.  Each girl got a new coloring book, a new top for church, new hair clips and socks, candy from grandparents, and sunglasses.  Kinsie got some Playdo and Britnee got colored pencils.  All intended to be shared....ya right!
After they had fun with their gifts we had breakfast and got ready for church.  The girls were absolutely adorable in their matching skirts and color coordinating tops.  Their cuteness demanded that I take some pictures.  This process ended up being a joke.  This first one actually isn't that bad.  But as we continued to snaps some shots we continued to go downhill.
Britnee started wiggling around while Kinsie became distracted.  So, we tried to focus their attention with...some more candy.  (yes, we're bad parents)  You can see the candy egg lodged in Britnee's cheesy smile.
I finally thought I had a decent shot when I realized Britnee thought it would be fun to flash her diaper.  She is such a little character.
So, I gave up and we headed outside to get some more pics.
And finally, I was able to get my semi decent shot.
We had a fun weekend and a great Easter Sunday.  We hope all of you were also able to enjoy the holiday and the message of peace and hope that comes through our Savior's Resurrection.

Our little cheerleader

I've always been bound and determined not to have my girls become cheerleaders, for several reasons!  Even though I have several friends and family members who were cheerleaders.  But, I may have to make an exception when it comes to Britnee.
She just loves doing this with Chad and is actually really good at it. Several times she would end up balancing on just one foot, and at one point she even picked up one leg and did the karate kid crane pose.  You know the one...
She is such a funny little girl and whatever she ends up doing with her life (be it cheerleading or karate) I hope she'll always love what she does and continue to make us laugh.

Popcorn Popping

Because it just tastes better from the floor instead of a bowl.
Whatever floats your boat I suppose.

You've got to be kidding me!

Lessons learned from today's little adventure:

It's impossible to get 32 fl oz. of bubble mix out of your carpet.  No matter how much water and towels you end up using.

Cleaning up 32 fl oz. of bubble mix out of your carpet results in a rather large load of towels and rags that now need to be put in the laundry.  (Never mind the three loads I did yesterday)

If at all possible, never let your oldest daughter pour 32 fl oz. of bubble mix onto your youngest daughter.

We need to purchase a wet vac asap!

Never try to get anything done (especially when it's church related) while the girls are awake.  In other words, never try to get anything done.

Cleaning up messes usually results in much larger messes.  Messes made by both the cleaner upper and the little mess makers.

Having 32 fl oz. of bubble mix poured onto your carpet results in a huge headache, both figuratively and quite literally.

Having bubble mix poured onto your carpet results in many tears shed by all involved.  The youngest- because she had the bubble mixed poured onto her, the oldest- because she was punished, and the mommy-because she ended up feeling like a horrible monster of a mommy after all was said and done.

No matter how many things end up going wrong in a day there is plenty of good to back it up.

No matter how big of a mess 32 fl oz. of bubble mix can make it's never large enough to compete with the cuteness of a little mess maker asking if we can still do "bubbooz".
